Product Engineer

Job details, tasks:
Liaise directly with customer’s engineering teams to develop new products and lead modifications of existing products (custom solutions).
Give technical advice to develop an understanding of the customer’s specific application requirements and support fuse and switch selection.
Build and maintain relationships with the sales team across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, leading technical discussions and solving customer problems.
Liaise with Product Managers and New Product Development Engineering to ensure that the customer’s product and test requirements are considered throughout the design lifecycle.
Support and develop programs and promotional activities to strengthen market position in segments such as Hybrid Electric Vehicles and Renewable Energy.
Research market trends within the electrical industry and identify opportunities to develop products.
Develop advanced technical knowledge of fuse technology to produce and deliver training packages to customers and internal stakeholders.
Provide support for the maintenance of the product literature on a technical level.
Travel will be required up to 25% of the time across EMEA and UK.
Requirements:
College in Electrical Engineering, preferably in Power Electronics (BSc in Mechanical, Physics and Maths subject could also be considered) or demonstrable equivalent experience
Ability to demonstrate both product and application knowledge
Excellent organizational skills, a pro-active “hands on” approach
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
Advantage:
Experience within Project management and ability to use change management business tools
Previous experience within a field engineering role would be desirable
